At the beginning of 2012, "Page # of 366" was trending on Twitter. Like any other trend, it was a matter of time and it faded away. Well, we've finally come to Page 366 of 366, and this 2012 chapter will be in the archives too.
My life has always been about relationships, with God, with family and with friends. But yet here I am on New Year's Eve in a restaurant eating my last supper of the year alone. What happened to me, you could ask. The answer is simple, 2012 happened. I sat down to evaluate my year and the only good things that came to mind were the lessons I learned from the negative experiences. You may wonder, can it be that bad, yea, it can.
One of my friends remarked "what a year??? Dramatic, comic, thriller, fictional, horror, name it... all in one year. I'm not good at descriptions so for now I'll borrow his description of 2012.
However, I want to start 2013 on a positive note so I choose to end 2012 on a positive note. I choose to see the fact that I'm seated here alone as not being lonely, but that I have some solitude to get in touch with myself, and with God as I cross over to the new year.
Many times 2012 challenged me, "is it worth it all?", "Do you have what it takes?" Then I remembered Mary Mary lyrics...
I just can't give up now
I've come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
and I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me
Thus far The Lord has brought me, Ebenezer! As I open Page 1 of 365 tomorrow, I commit it all to God. For He alone knows the plans He has for me.
Happy New Year, 2013!
